By Nirja Shah

The American Academy of Pediatrics enhances school based learning through their TEAMS program. This cohort of the TEAMS Program is intended for school districts interested in expanding access to physical, mental, and behavioral health services in schools, improve the delivery of school health services, and/or enhance the management of mental and/or chronic health conditions in schools.

Through the program, the AAP will provide training, resources, and technical assistance to school districts interested in strengthening their policies, practices, and infrastructure related to school-based health services and supports. The duration of this cohort will be September 2025 through May 2026.

Each participating school district will assemble a 3-4 member team including:

  • School District Health Services Partner (ex. lead nurse, health services director, etc.)
  • Local/ County Health Department Partner
  • Local Physician Partner (the AAP can help make this connection if/when needed)
  • Optional: Mental Health Professional Partner

All school districts are invited to apply to participate. Please click here for more details about the program and application instructions. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 29, 2025.
