ETR Selected to Launch National Technical Assistance and Professional Development Center for School-Based Adolescent Health and Well-Being  

The CDC Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) has selected ETR | Education, Training, and Research to develop and launch the National Technical Assistance (TA) and Professional Development (PD) Center for School-Based Adolescent Health and Well-Being. This initiative will support state education agencies, territorial education agencies, local education agencies, tribal nations, and consortia under the CDC/DASH-funded recipients.  ETR will provide high quality, evidence-based technical assistance, and professional development through a comprehensive holistic approach, offering a broad range of virtual and in-person capacity building activities related to the What Works in Schools (WWIS) model.  

The TA and PD Center’s purpose and function directly aligns with CDC/DASH’s mission to promote the health and well-being of adolescents by 1) increasing  the capacity of education agencies and consortia to implement or support the implementation of the What Works in Schools approach; 2) increase the number of education agencies and consortia nationwide that are implementing or supporting the implementation of the What Works in Schools approach; and 3) increase the capacity of CDC-RFA-DP-23-0002 recipients to implement evidenced-based efforts to promote the health and well-being of school-age children and adolescents in underserved and disproportionately affected communities.
