School absences could help ID kids with chronic GI disorders
According to University of Virginia Health System, new research from UVA Health Children’s has found that children frequently missing school due to abdominal complaints are more likely to suffer from gut-brain axis disorders like irritable bowel syndrome than diseases detected with medical tests. The researchers suggest that delayed diagnosis and treatment can lead to increased anxiety and frustration for children with functional gastrointestinal disorders. Please read more here
