Support Families with T1D Awareness & Screening Conversations
According to NASN, School nurses play a critical role in helping families recognize and respond to student health needs. NASN’s Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Toolkit provides ready-to-use resources to help you educate parents and families about early detection and screening for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). While T1D cannot be prevented, early identification and monitoring can help to reduce the risk of serious complications and hospitalizations, and support better planning for and management of a potential diagnosis. Use the materials to guide conversations with families and connect them with their healthcare providers.
Explore NASN’s Children with Diabetes resource page for more evidence-based tools and guidance to support high-quality care for students with T1D.
